Terms of Use

Last updated: 1 July 2026

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of CitizenReady UK (citizenready.uk and its subdomains, the "site"). By using the site you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Educational use only

Everything on the site is provided for general educational purposes in connection with preparing for the Life in the UK citizenship test. The site is not a substitute for professional immigration advice. We do not guarantee that you will pass the official test, and we are not responsible for the outcome of your official application.

3. Independence

CitizenReady UK is an independent project. It is not affiliated with the Home Office, the UK Visas and Immigration department, or any official test provider. We do not have access to live exam questions and do not claim that the practice questions on this site appear in the real exam.

4. Question bank source and licensing

The questions reproduced on this site are taken from a publicly available open source mirror of the official Life in the UK handbook question bank. We believe our use of this material constitutes fair dealing for the purposes of education and non-commercial study under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. If you are a rights holder who believes any specific question infringes your copyright, please contact us using the details on the contact page and we will investigate promptly.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use the site in any way that is unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful, and you may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the server or to any data stored on it. Automated scraping of the site at high volumes is not permitted; our robots.txt sets out the rules we expect well-behaved crawlers to follow.

6. Linking to the site

You are welcome to link to any page on CitizenReady UK from your own website, community group page or course materials. You may not frame the site, reproduce its content in bulk, or imply that we endorse you or your services without our written agreement.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The site is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error free, or that the questions and explanations are free from typographical errors. We work hard to keep everything accurate but we cannot accept liability for any loss arising from errors on the site.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any loss arising out of your use of the site (including loss of opportunity to take or pass the official test) is limited to nil, on the basis that the site is provided free of charge. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

9. Changes

We may change these terms from time to time. The version in force is always the one published at this URL on the date of your visit. Material changes will be announced on the home page for at least 30 days.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
